On 7th February 2025, a letter was sent to all parents and members of our community to inform them of proposed changes to the status of Crosshall Junior School.

This started the process of the Governing Body of Crosshall Junior School consulting on whether the school should join Meridian Trust.  Crosshall Infant School is also undergoing the same process.

Whole School: Consultation to Change the Status of Crosshall Junior School – Outcome Summary

We recently concluded a consultation regarding the proposed transfer of Crosshall Junior School to Meridian Trust, which ran from 7^th February to 14^th March 2025.  We would like to thank everyone who participated.

The consultation process involved a wide range of stakeholders, including parents and carers, staff (teaching and support), unions representing school staff, the local authority, Meridian Trust, and local schools; all of whom provided valuable input and feedback on the proposed transfer.

 

Key points:

• Three consultation events were held, with two in-person sessions and one online.
• A total of 25 survey responses were received: 14 in support, 8 opposed, and 3 uncertain.
• Concerns raised primarily focused on potential changes to the school’s identity, financial considerations, and the Trust’s local knowledge.
• The overall response was positive, with Meridian Trust addressing concerns based on its values and prior successful school transfers.

 

Next Steps

The school’s Governing Body will review all feedback and concerns raised during the consultation.

Following the review, a final decision will be made regarding the school’s transfer to Meridian Trust.  This decision will be communicated to staff, parents and carers, and all other stakeholders.
